About Gladys Raj

Gladys Raj was born in India to a Christian family. Her father passed away when she was twenty-one days old. Her mother was a great woman of faith. Her mother was twenty-four years old when her father went to be with the Lord. Her mother raised Gladys and her two older brothers in the fear of God.

She committed her life to the Lordship of Jesus at age eleven. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bombay, she worked for an oil company in that city. She then left the job and went to the Middle East because of her abusive marriage. While she lived there for sixteen years, she left her two daughters with her mother in India.

In 1982, her brother in Australia and mother in India passed away. Emotionally crushed, grief-stricken, and tormented by fear of death, she lost all hope and peace. She became angry at God and almost became like an atheist. But during that crisis, while still living in the Middle East, she fasted and sought for peace and prayed for an unknown God. On the twenty-first day of her fast, she encountered the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1985. She was totally set free from fear of death and experienced the peace that Jesus promised in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” With this, she rededicated her life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Lord spoke to her through His Word in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

The Lord used her to pioneer the Women’s Aglow Fellowship in the Middle East and she ministered to people of diverse cultural and religious background. As an elder in the local church, she preached, taught, mentored, prayed for the sick, and set the captives free. The Lord also used her (and continues to use her) as an intercessor. During those years in the Middle East, the Lord used her to touch many lives.

In 1990, Gladys left her job in the oil industry in the Middle East to fulfill the call of God in her life. She enrolled in the Master of Missions degree program at Oral Roberts University School of Theology, graduating in 1993 with her MA. In 1994 she successfully completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the Psychiatric State Hospital in Oregon. This certification involved working with sex-offenders and drug abusers; working in the forensic unit (male criminals unit), the brain damaged unit, and the geriatric psychiatric unit; and providing pastoral, spiritual, and grief counseling. She worked as a full time Staff Hospice Chaplain in Houston, TX and at the Community Medical Hospital in Fresno, CA. She is a Board Certified Chaplain of the Association of Professional Chaplains Healing through Spiritual Care.

Gladys is a non-denominational, ordained minister. In addition to her formal education, she also attended the Billy Graham School of Evangelism and the Morris Cerullo Ministry School. She is an Evangelist, Teacher, Preacher, an Intercessor and Professional Clinical Chaplain. She has travelled extensively within the United States and around the world, preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and conducting Healing Seminars. The Lord Jesus Christ has used her to help those oppressed of the devil, afflicted by emotional wounds, bound by addictions, depression, and physical infirmities through one-on-one spiritual counseling, teaching, preaching, Healing Seminars, and deliverance prayers. The gifts of the Spirit are operating in her ministry for the glory of the Lord.

I did not experience my earthly father’s love since my father went to be with the Lord when I was twenty one days old. My widow mother nurtured and taught me to take Jesus as my Father. As a result, from early age I loved the Lord and participated in all church activities. At age eleven I committed my life to the Lord and made a vow to serve the Lord as a Bible Woman. Unfortunately, I could not fulfill my vow because of my family. I was then settled in marriage. It was an arranged marriage and turned out to be an abusive one.

In order to escape from the abusive marriage I quit my job and went to the Middle East. I left my two daughters with my mother in India. It was not easy leaving my children behind. It was very painful but I was forced to do so to retain my sanity.

During my abusive marriage I often became suicidal but my mother’s love stopped me. Once I had my children, my love for them prevented me from committing suicide and I was trying to survive. When both my brother in Australia, who was to take me and my daughters to Australia to migrate, and my mother, who took care of my daughters in India, passed away, I was not only devastated but also tormented by the spirit of fear of death. The loss of my mother and brother made me angry at God. There was none to comfort or to understand what I was going through.

Although I loved Jesus, committed my life to Him, read the Bible and participated in the church activities, I was never taught or aware of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. As a result, when the storm of life came I was not able to stand but collapsed. The mercy of the Lord lifted up my soul from the grave (Ps. 30) through baptism of the Holy Spirit and endued me with the power on high (Acts. 1:8). I was totally set free from tormenting fear, sorrow and grief when I baptized in the Holy Spirit with an outward sign of speaking in tongue. The Lord filled my heart with His peace (John 14:27), joy, and love, which cannot be expressed in humanly language. The perfect sacrificial love of Jesus set me free and made me whole. I experienced His love, comfort, peace and joy, which inspired me to serve Him the rest of my life by serving others who are hurting bringing healing and restoration by the power of the Holy Spirit.

With what I went through I realized how important it is to be sensitive to those who are hurting and wounded because of abusive, loss, grief, and crisis situation and not to be judgemental. The Lord commissioned me to comfort those who are suffering with the comfort that He comforted me (2 Cor. 1:3-4). In obedience to His Word, I dedicated my life to reach out and touch those who were suffering, hurt and abused. The Lord used me in the Middle East to restore troubled marriages, cast the demons, heal the sick and transform the lives by the authority of the Word of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Being lead by the Holy Spirit in 1990 I quit my job and came to the States to prepare myself for full time ministry. The Lord then directed me to establish non-profit organization called Multicultural Global Ministry to mend the broken hearted with the compassion of Jesus (Isa.61:1-3).

Gladys Raj is the founder of Multicultural Global Ministry, Inc., which she founded in 1995. The vision and purpose of Multicultural Global Ministry is to touch the hearts and minds of troubled people, bringing hope, joy, reconciliation, restoration, and healing of the whole person—body, mind, and spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. And the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified,” (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Men and women of all walks of life within and outside the church all over the world are wounded and hurt at some time or the other. Those hurts, stored in the subconscious memory, cause emotional struggles that affect relationships in the family and workplace. Experience such as rejection, experienced at one time or another by most people, crushes the spirit and damages the soul.

Some sicknesses, diseases, calamities, addictions, and emotional problems are due to our own sin (Rom. 6:23), or because of the sins of our forefathers – the generational curse (Ex.20:5, Num. 14:19, Deut. 5:9-10). Disobedience to the Word of God opens the door to Satan (1 Sam. 15:22-23). The demonic spirits have access or legal right in different ways in our lives. The demonic spirits of Satan can invade one’s life from the beginning from the mother’s womb. The child might be innocent, but the sins of the parents give access to victimize the child.

Some of the emotional problems are because of the past painful issues that have not been dealt with. In order for us to walk in divine health and abundant life, we must recognize and identify the root cause and the open doors to the enemy in our lives. Unless and until those doors that the enemy invaded are closed and the power of the enemy broken in our lives, we will not be healed completely in every area of our lives. As long as there is an issue not dealt with, we will struggle emotionally and it will hinder us from experiencing the fullness of the blessing of the Lord.

The Multicultural Global Ministry’s vision, mission, and goal is to help those who are victimized, bound, and struggling emotionally to identify and to deal with the root cause of the problem. The spiritual counseling provided is to help the person to identify and to deal with the past, painful issues, and to receive comfort, peace, joy, freedom, and healing by the authority of the Word of God, and by the power of the Holy Spirit and prayer (Isa. 61:1-3). The Emotional Healing Seminar sheds light on the causes of painful, buried memories and shows the importance of receiving healing from the inside, soulish realm which then shows up in a healthy mind and body.

It is the heart of our Heavenly Father for His children to be free from the cords of the wicked one and to be victorious. For that purpose, He sent His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to destroy the works the devil that His people might walk in freedom, holiness, and without blame before Him in love, (1 John 3:8, John 8:31-32, Eph. 1:4-6).
